What to Wear for Your Spring Farm Photoshoot

Spring at Enchanted Farms is a magical time — fresh green pastures, soft hay bales, and of course, our adorable baby lambs and rabbits! Whether you’re coming for a family session, children’s portraits, or maternity photos, dressing for the season (and the farm!) will help you get the most out of your photos.

Here are some outfit ideas, using real examples from our recent sessions!

Farm-Friendly Color Palettes

The farm’s natural backdrop — with its greens, browns, and rustic wood tones — works best with soft, earthy colors.

We recommend:

Cream, beige, and soft white

Muted pastels like dusty blue, blush pink, sage green, or butter yellow

Soft florals, subtle plaids, or delicate lace details

What to avoid: Neon colors, heavy logos, or bold patterns that might clash with the natural setting (and distract from our sweet lambs and bunnies!).

Outfit Inspiration from Real Sessions

For Girls

• Flowy dresses in muted colors (like the soft teal dress in these photos)

• Cute boots — they can be practical for the farm but still adorable in photos

• Flower crowns or simple hair accessories add a touch of whimsy

For Boys

• Button-up shirts in light blue, cream, or plaid

• Jeans or khaki pants for comfort and a classic farm look

• Sturdy sneakers or boots for running around with the animals

For Moms

• Flowy maxi dresses (especially with floral or watercolor prints)

• Comfortable boots or flats for exploring the farm

• Layer with a denim jacket or light cardigan if the weather is cooler

For Dads

• Casual button-down shirts or plaid shirts

• Jeans or khakis for a relaxed, farm-friendly look

• Neutral-toned shoes that blend into the natural setting

A Note on Practicality

Since you’ll be sitting on hay, grass, and natural surfaces — and possibly holding some very curious baby lambs — it’s important to choose clothes that you can move comfortably in. Flowy fabrics and layers look beautiful and are easy to move around in.

Why the Right Outfit Matters

The right outfit not only makes you feel confident and comfortable but also helps your photos feel cohesive and timeless. These are the images you’ll treasure for years to come, so a little outfit planning goes a long way!
